Customized workspaces, Paris - 2017
“I fantasized the paintings of Dutch artist M.C. Esher in this dizzying space. Impossible constructions, charcoal-cut architecture and trompe l'oeil on every floor make for a breathtaking, offbeat lobby.”
The brainchild of its two founders, Albert Angel and Lawrence Knights, these operated workspaces are designed to make working fluid, inspiring and creative. More than just a place to work, it's a state of mind: openness, curiosity and creativity.
Inspired by the paintings of M.C. Esher, the lobby, with its 11-metre high ceilings, plays on contrasts in alternating screens and reality, 2D and 3D. It confuses the senses, inspiring its occupants as they sit on sofas hung on the walls. In contrast to the jagged architecture and oversized monuments on the horizon, Tour First's floors are dressed in warm colors and diffused lighting. Transparency, essential for preserving views of the city and natural light, pervades the project like a delicate veil, allowing the city to reveal itself in all its splendor and bringing clarity and freshness to the workspaces.
